Why did i choose this comic to do as a remake? Well i felt the reason was rather obvious! I’m sure at some point in our lives, especially with how our culture is computer dependent, that we all have fallen victim to looking at someone we have a crush on on Myspace or Facebook; regardless of the fact that we may or may not know them. I mean, I’m not alone on that one am I? I’m probably just a “creeper” and don’t realize it.

The other reason i brought this particular comic back so soon wasn’t really because it was one of my favorites or anything. Rather, it was my way of introducing Katie as early as possible into the story. Once i created her (two years into the comic) i became rather fond of her existence. She sort of gave a purpose behind all the madness that i had develop over time. So instead of re-releasing all of these comics in the original order i felt this time i would lay out a subtle story in which the rabbits nonsensically live in.

As far as improvements to this comic… there weren’t many. I wasn’t really ever happy with the way i drew Reeder or Coney… and I’m not particularly proud of them in this version either. I feel really rusty as far as drawing these two characters at the moment. Either way, I’m relatively happier about the way Coney looks in the first and last cell, but they aren’t really the way i really see either rabbit in my head. Basically.. I’m indifferent to the new one and the older one. Maybe you can tell me which you like better? Original

Anyway, Sorry for the Delay on this post! I had to pack before I even considered finishing up this comic. Tomorrow I’m on my way to Seattle!

Originally, Tico was gonna give a lot more exposition at this point. This was when Cassie had a boyfriend still, in the script. He’d be the one who would come in and intervene with Tico, so Cass and Cassie could get away. When I decided to write out the boyfriend a few weeks back (hence the little break I had to take), I also decided to write out the exposition Tico would give to him. Funny enough, at this point, I didn’t have a whole lot of use for Tico, other than being another one of her former customers, and of course one more person who wanted to collect the bounty. That’s when I decided to make him a cop. Making him a cop would help demonstrate the corruption of the law as explained in the “Profiles” page, which is exactly what i wanted to set up while still in the beginning of the story. So in the end, it kind of all fell into place quite nicely.

I think I’ve finally landed on the aesthetic look the novel is gonna have for it’s remainder. Specifically, the coloring and shading. Page 18 and 19 are the ones I’m referring to. They both include a much more consistent, precise and limited color pallet. Also the shading has also sorta fallen into it’s own. Over time both aspects will of course continue to improve, as things tend to do (just flip back to page 3 to see what I’m talking about). I’m really excited about how this story is shaping up.

For all of you who used to read Reeder Rabbit back in the day, you will be happy to now know that it is back! This time it is "remastered," which means it is now in full color, with no spelling errors, and ready for print! So check it out every Tuesday.

With the new look of the comic there is also a new look, the page is styled with Comic Press which means that now you can comment to ever post along the way. NO MORE CBOX!

Unconscious ink and SSWestern will also be getting their final face lift so that people can comment to those comics as well. We'll keep you posted.

Well after a lot of hard work coding, setting up and getting products from the different artist together, The Noir Project Store is finally open!

First and foremost we are proud to debut the first Official TNP Original T-Shirt designed by Rush Haven Design Group and printed on high quality American Apparel shirts! All of the proceeds will go to keep this project running; supporting the artists is the sole purpose of this project in the first place. Currently only men’s shirts are available but next week the girls shirts will come in and well have them up as soon as they get in.

Also available are the second edition copies of Jason Poland’s proto-cake taster books, signed and hand colored by him. This edition is limited to 50 copies, so if you didn’t get the first edition, these will be available for only a short time. This edition has a different cover then the first and higher quality than the last.

Last but not least, Joenis Noarc will be doing original hand drawings and selling some [ui] stickers. So come check it out and help support them all.

note: Bringing the "Graphic" to the "Graphic Novel." Here we get our first costume change. I just think it helps ground things more in reality. Oh, and the reason i used a blue call-out in the last panel is to signify that its someone else, other than our two heroines.

As you can see, I'm trying a lot of new things here as far as shading and lighting techniques. So excuse any inconsistencies in the next couple pages as I continue to develop my skills. Alt least it will only get better. - ali
