ALAMEDA, CA, July 1, 2009 (The Boating Channel) – Thirty-three people were rescued from a vessel taking on water in the vicinity of Suisun Bay near Concord by the Coast Guard, Contra Costa Sherriff’s Department, and the Good Samaritan passenger ferry Intintoli at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday.

FORT BRAGG, CAA, June 17, 2009 (The Boating Channel) –The U.S. Coast Guard, in cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Game, has completed cleanup operations of approximately 30 gallons of oil released into the Noyo River on Sunday when the 53-foot fishing vessel, Tango, sank at the dock.

STOCKHOM, SWEDEN, June 16, 2009 (The Boating Channel) – PUMA racked up its first top-of-the-podium leg finish yesterday when they sailed into Stockhom and won leg 9 of the Volvo Ocean Race. The glory was only somewhat diminished by the team that came in third, Ericsson 4. With just one leg to go, the third-place finish gave Ericsson 4 a 13-point lead overall and a guaranteed win in the round-the-world race. Only 12 points remain to be garnered in the final leg.
