Feb 20-21: Hooked Up - Locals

During this weekend we had the pleasure of fishing with two groups of guatemalan friends of ours that had visitors from Seattle and St Louis. Sea conditions were rough, choppy and windy...but the Sails don't seem to mind this, for the numbers we got are right up our standards: 25/17 raised - 22/15 bites. And the locals did get several Mahi's as part of their intentions.

Feb 16-18: 3 Boat Group

Our regulars from Idaho came along with several business associates to enjoy the nice weather and great fishing here in Guatemala. Out of the 9 angler group, only 1 had fished for Sails ever! Their results aboard AFINITY, PERLA DEL MARE and HOOKED UP surpassed their expectations... a total of 96 released, 150 bites and 189 raised!

Last day, the group went sightseeing within our countryside, getting the best of their vacation as well.

Feb 12-14: Hooked Up

The group organized by Mr. Murphy from Dallas had an impressive first day, raising 34 and having 29 bites. Their other two days were tougher, for the Sails were just hard to find. Strong Currents moved them from the sweet spot found on the last days...so their average was 18 raised and 13 bites. Overall, a great experience for them, especially since they had been experiencing Costa Rica's slower numbers!

Feb 8-10 - Hooked Up

Our close friends, the NYE family from Corpus Christi started their first day with a Quad Released! Finished up with more than 30 bites! On their second day, first Sail released came seconds after getting the ballyhoo on the water...that is getting action very, very fast! Third day was the charm...49 bites! Overall, they had around 1500 photos taken!

Feb 5-7 - Hooked Up

The group from New Orleans had a great couple of days, with quadruplets released every so often! And to top it all...we enjoyed the SuperBowl win by the Saints with them!

Feb 5-6 - Guatemalan Tourney

Bites for the 2-Day Tournament were much lower than expected for Guatemala. Boats were averaging around 10 releases each, so the action was there, but probably not as we all wanted!

Feb 2-3 - Perla del Mare

The Clemons Group fished for 2 days and had more than 30 bites per day. Otis, 80 years young had a great vacation, releasing more than 10 per day by himself!

Feb 2-4 - Hooked Up

Lumia group was fishing solely on the Fly during their 3-Day Vacation. So many chances! Each angler left very satisfied!

We had a great friend of ours fish with 7 buddies during this 4-day experience, for their 3rd year in a row...The Coulson group fished aboard Hooked Up and Perla del Mare, averaging 34/31 raises, 27/29 bites and 17/21 releases on average for their fishing days. Perla del Mare had 2 Marlin bites as well and Hooked Up enjoyed Fly Fishing during the afternoons.

Jan 26-28 - Perla del Mare

Our boat, Perla del Mare is starting to see some action, and Marcial - its captain - is proving to be one of the gurus here in Guatemala...Mr. Callahan, a single angler from Florida had 43 raises, 39 bites and 25 releases as the average numbers for his 3-day fishing experience. He's coming back Feb 4 to fish on our local Guatemalan Tourney...

Jan 26-28 - Hooked Up

Mr & Mrs Powers fished Guatemala for their first time during these dates and had a wonderful experience. They averaged 44 raises, 39 bites and 29 releases! They have already booked another trip for March, with their 90 year young father!
