Biewer Lumber, a leading manufacturer and distributor of lumber and building products in the Midwest, announced it has acquired the sawmill assets of Pine Tech Inc. located in Gladwin and Lake City, Michigan. The facilities will be operated as Biewer Sawmill – Lake City LLC and Biewer Sawmill – Gladwin LLC.

Arrowhead Building Supply, a roofing and siding distributor out of St. Peters, Missouri has opened a new location in Carthage, Missouri.

Capital Lumber Co., a distributor of specialty building materials, has purchased Snavely Forest Products' assets from distribution branch in Phoenix. Both companies are DMSi customers.

Boston Cedar, a lumber and building material distributor based in Boston, Massachusetts, has launched a custom social media platform. The initiative includes a blog and Facebook page.

Shelter Products Inc of New Ulm, MN will celebrate its 30th anniversary on August 17. Shelter Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building materials in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Herrman Lumber, a contractor yard based out of Springfield, MO, was recently a sponsor of the 2011, St. Jude Dream Home giveaway in Nixa, MO. The campaign helped raise $600,000 for children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
