Vaujany is an unspoiled mountain village where farming families have lived for generations tending their animals and where you can still buy cheeses and honey from some of the locals. It also benefits from a modern swimming pool and sports complex, a tennis club with six hard courts, a cable-car, a spacious day nursery and a children's activity club.

There are still a number of farmers in Vaujany using traditional methods and our chalets in La Villette enjoy the daily comings and goings of goats and cows.

The village enjoys superb views of the wooded valley below and the snowy mountain tops above stretching to 3,500 metres.

Summer Activities

The swimming pool and sports complex has a 25m indoor heated swimming pool with water slide, sports hall, gymnasium, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Vaujany's 160-person cable car runs six times a day during July and August giving access at the first station to spectacular walks and mountain-biking beside lakes and meadows brimming with wild flowers or higher up where there is often snow still lying at 2800metres.

Down in the village there is a wonderful tennis club where, having trounced the competition, you can relax with drink in hand on the terrace, take your lunch under the parasols and let your children enjoy the playground. If you feel adventurous this is the place to sign up for your first tandem paragliding flight.

Within an hours drive there is also boating, river rafting, canoeing and mountaineering in the Parc des Ecrins. The possibilities are endless and you will never feel a lack of space. You will feast on the delicious mountain air and sensational blue skies.

Summer Childrens clubs
The clubs in Vaujany are very active with professionally accompanied activities for youngsters, clubs are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm.

We are proposing the January and April for our special schools skiing weeks in The Rissiou. The Hotel has 20 rooms and can accommodate between 40 and 50 people. It is the perfect place to enjoy your holiday in Vaujany being a short walk from the lift station and our team of friendly, knowledgeable staff are there to help every step of the way. The Rissiou’s daily menu starts with a healthy, energising buffet breakfast. The TV room and games room with bar-football, pool and table-tennis provide ample entertainment for children. There is a separate children’s supper complete with puddings and juices prior to the gourmet adult evening meal. The hotel has many communal areas which mean children are not restricted to their bedrooms and are free to play around the hotel.
