Pirates And The Paranormal In New Series For Young Readers

Mount Juliet, TN – October 24, 2008 – Hold on to your hats and keep your arms inside the rails if you decide to ride along on this swashbuckling adventure. Jeremiah Bloom and the Amulet of Osiron is book one of the JB series, mixing an engaging tale of pirates and the paranormal set in the early 18^th century (pub date 1/1/09).

“I couldn’t think of a better combination,” says Stephen Wren, the author of the series. “With two of my long-time favorite subjects being pirates and the paranormal, I felt it would a perfect mix, combining the two together in an adventure series for middle-grade children and up.”

For the past twelve years, Stephen has stood at the bedside of sick and terminally ill patients, helping them cope with their disease, or watching them pass on to the next stage of their journey. As a registered respiratory therapist, he helps every age imaginable, from the neonates to the elderly, cope with their lung or heart-related disease. He has served as an instructor, credentialing therapists and nurses alike for NRP (the Neonatal Resuscitation program) and CPR.

Stephen also founded the paranormal investigations group, TN Paranormal (www.TNparanormal.com). The group conducts free investigations for middle TN home and business owners who may be experiencing “the unexplainable”. To date, the group has over 750 members and in the past two years, the website alone has received over a million hits.

When he’s not in the community doing healthcare for the ill or paranormal investigating for the terrified, he does what he loves most: writing. Over the years he has amassed many manuscripts, mostly unfinished, that he felt just weren’t the right fit with him.That is, until the idea of Jeremiah Bloom came along.

With his passion for the paranormal (and pirates), it was no time at all before the story line for the entire series developed. He spent the following year and a half molding and shaping book one to open the series. TN Paranormal Investigates 19th Century Haunted Home

Dresden, TN -- October 26th, 2008 -- New homeowners request the aid of TN Paranormal to answer questions and occurrences surrounding newly-acquired property.

"It's always disturbing to hear of a family having such a difficult time," Stephen Wren, the director of TN Paranormal, states. "Especially when they've only lived in it for two weeks before making the decision to never return. That's drastic. It's not uncommon to hear of people experiencing activity in their home and enduring it, many times for years. But when I get a distressed call from homeowners, who are desperate for answers after just two weeks following the purchase of a property, it's time to get my crew in gear."

Last Wednesday night, the crew of TN Paranormal made the three hour trek from outside Nashville to the upper-west area of the state to lend a hand (and assistance) to this family.

"It'll take us at least a couple of weeks to fine-comb every piece of audio, video, analytical and photographic data obtained at the location," says Stephen. "When reviewing evidence for a home or business owner, we do everything we can to leave no stone left unturned. Our case manager pulls all the data ever exisiting for the property, we go and investigate. Sometimes twice. After it's all done, you start putting together the pieces of the puzzle, or evidence, and find out who or what is there and what the best course of action for dealing with it is."

Weary Of The Ouija

Oujia Boards: The infamous, scare-the-wits-out-of-you-and-your-friends game that is intended to be just a game. Right?

Ever played around with one… as an adult or a child? Did you see something happen? Maybe the cursor moved on its own or maybe it was just you and your friends tugging and pulling over certain letters spelling out words to scare the heck out of yourselves?

Well, the truth is… one must be very careful when messing around with these boards. Whether it is a homemade version or the classic one made by a well-known children’s manufacturer, they can ultimately be dangerous. If you’re comfortable with inviting activity or a potential haunting (could be a positive or negative entity) into your home, go ahead…give it a go. At Tennessee Paranormal, we don't recommend it. It’s all fun and games until you start noticing very unusual (and often frightful) things happening that you now don’t know what to do or how to get rid of it.

I have known of numerous instances where investigations have been requested as a result of a Ouija board being used in the home, apartment, trailer, college campus, etc. It doesn’t matter where you are at… you can do just as you are intending to… invite the thing to come right in there with you.

Why does this happen? No one really knows for sure, but it is believed that you can open a “doorway” of sorts that most don’t know how to close. We have spoken to individuals who have seen the cursor move across the board after they’ve backed away, fy across the room and much more.

Is it guaranteed to cause paranormal activity every time that you use it? …. Of course not, but the potential is always there.

Be weary of investigators that use this as a tool.

Local Tennessee Paranormal Group Investigates State Hauntings

Nashville, TN – Oct 22, 2008 – “It happens regularly,” Stephen Wren states. “In many cases where a home or business owner is suspecting they may have a haunting or unusual activity, there is often times a reasonable explanation to what may be causing what they believe to be ‘unnatural’. Often times it could be bad ventilation in the home, wiring, faulty pipes; anything and everything you could possibly imagine. However, there are those other cases in the area that do indeed have activity occurring… and regularly.”

Maybe it’s the complaint of being watched by an unknown visitor, things touching you that really aren’t there, unknown sounds, doors slamming, unknown odors or fragrances, and even moving objects and knocking on the walls. Whatever the complaint, the group at TN Paranormal discusses each case and its merit before embarking on a full-fledged investigation, many times half way across the state.

“There is a great deal of media hype about the subjects of ghosts and the paranormal. It has been a popular subject for quite some time now and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Most all of us are “curious” as to whether the possibility of ghosts really do indeed exist. Yes, ghosts are most certainly real, for I have experienced them myself, but so often people want to believe they have one, especially those who are avid television fans of the subject. I often find it ironic that the month of October is when we get most of our calls and investigation queries.

We do a variety of different tests and techniques when conducting a full-scale investigation,” Stephen continues, “most times infrared video surveillance, EMF measurements, temperature measurements, audio and digital recordings, and other techniques are involved. We attempt to arrive at every location with a bit of skepticism, trying to rule out the possibility of a ghost or haunting, but many times we have been proved wrong. There are many locations in the state that have regular activity.”

TN Paranormal recently investigated the Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro TN and in the upcoming weeks has a large scale investigation scheduled at a private residence in Dresden TN in case that’s been described as “a location with the types of occurrences that we approach very cautiously.”
